An Intel Diamond Rapids Xeon engineering sample has appeared in SiSoftware’s benchmark database, providing an early indication that the next server architecture is operational on Intel’s enhanced 18A-P manufacturing process.
The detected processor contains 32 cores and 64 threads.
The unusually large L2 allocation is consistent with Intel’s continuing emphasis on per-core cache and memory performance for server workloads.
Diamond Rapids is expected to use Intel’s Panther Cove server core and compete against AMD’s Zen 6-based EPYC generation during 2027.
Production products may contain considerably more than 32 cores, making the observed chip potentially a partially enabled validation sample.
