Published August 6, 2026A memorial service will be held for James Kenneth Michael Jr. at 10 a.m., Saturday, Aug. 8, 2026, at Pleasant Grove Church in Monticello, MS.James Kenneth “Kenny” Michael Jr., 83, of Liberty, MS, passed away Aug. 5, 2026, at Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center. Mr. Michael was a member of Pleasant Grove Church. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 21 years, Brenda Michael; children, James K. Michael III, Robert Alex Michael, and Kimberly Taylor (Greg); two grandchildren, Christopher Hodges (Shawn) and Whitney Campbell (Greyson); and two great-grandchildren, Anna Grey Campbell and Addison Grace Campbell. The family would like to thank the staff at SMRMC, especially the ER, ICU, and 3rd floor staff, for their loving care and expertise. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pleasant Grove Church.
