In its warning, the UKHSA said: "Internal temperatures in care settings (hospitals and care homes) may exceed the recommended threshold for clinical risk assessment."
The Met Office is forecasting a heatwave for the region during this period, with temperatures expected to reach 27C on Saturday, followed by a high of 31C on Sunday and 28C on Monday.
The Met Office forecast for the weekend states: "Clear skies at first becoming cloudy during the afternoon, though sunny spells are likely.
"Cloudy with coastal showers during Sunday, clearing to sunny spells Monday and through Tuesday.
