Mike Tizard and Mark Goulding, members of the Salisbury Motorcycle and Light Car Club, raised more than £8,000 for charity during their Raleigh Centenary Ride, travelling from London to Edinburgh on vintage Raleigh motorcycles. The route followed the original 1926 ride completed by Marjorie Cottle, a works Raleigh motorcycle rider, and spelt out 'RALEIGH' across Britain. Despite record temperatures and mechanical problems, Mr Tizard and Mr Goulding reached Edinburgh City Chambers on schedule on July 14. Donations are still welcome for Shooting Stars Children’s Hospice, backed by Mr Goulding, and Parkinson’s UK, backed by Mr Tizard.
