The new community petition has been launched urging Lord Pembroke to rethink the housing plan for farmland south of Harnham.
Organised by campaign group Halt Harnham Housing (HHH), the petition urges Lord Pembroke to pause the housing plan and instead consider a long-term vision that protects the landscape while delivering environmental, community, and public wellbeing benefits.
The land borders the Lime Kiln Down County Wildlife Site and is close to the Cranborne Chase National Landscape.
It follows a June 10 exhibition where developer Wyatt Homes unveiled plans for 310 homes on the land, known as site 8 and site 9.
HHH hopes the petition shows support for protecting countryside south of Harnham and forces consideration of all viable options for the site.
