Starting on Monday, September 14, in Salisbury, the Dementia Arts Group will run weekly at Salisbury Arts Centre until December 14, offering creative sessions for people living with dementia and their carers. The sessions will run from 10.30am to midday, and are the result of a partnership between Wiltshire Creative, Beyond Dementia and DANCE SIX-0. "It’s predicted that there will be 1.4 million people in the UK living with dementia by 2040 – 8,300 people diagnosed in Wiltshire alone. Beyond Dementia, formerly known as Alzheimer’s Support, has served people with dementia and their families across Wiltshire for more than 30 years. The group is open to individuals with dementia as well as their carers, relatives and friends, and costs £5 per person per session.
