UNDERWOOD — A former Underwood School teacher was sentenced on July 28 after being charged in March 2025 with three gross misdemeanor counts of malicious punishment of a child following an incident where he was stepping on student's backs during a drill in February 2025. As longs as Rogers fully completes all the terms of his probation, the charges will be dismissed at a later date. ADVERTISEMENTRogers' conditions include surrendering his teaching license in all states, paying restitution, writing letter of apology to the victim, completing an anger management assessment, and following any recommendations of the evaluation. Rogers was placed on administrative leave by the school following a February 2025 incident that prompted deputies to respond to Lake Region Hospital. During questioning, Rogers admitted to stepping on two additional students as well.
