Apple released three security updates for macOS yesterday in the form of macOS Tahoe 26.6.1, macOS Sequoia 15.7.9, and macOS Sonoma 14.8.9.
The new bits fix the same screen sharing vulnerability on these three versions of macOS.
In the release notes for the updates, Apple explained that “an attacker on the network may be able to authenticate to Screen Sharing without valid credentials.”
Even if you don’t use screen sharing, it’s recommended to install the new updates as soon as possible.
On July 27, Apple had already released macOS Tahoe 26.6, macOS Sequoia 15.7.8, macOS Sonoma 14.8.8 to fix a much longer list of security flaws.
