The head of the Mossad has dismissed the chiefs of two divisions following what was described as a “failure to achieve the goal of toppling the Iranian regime”, Israel’s Channel 12 reported, citing sources. The Mossad chief reportedly held senior officials in the two divisions responsible for failing to carry out their assigned missions. The broadcaster did not identify the officials who were dismissed or provide details of the operations that allegedly failed. The report comes amid years of escalating tensions between Israel and Iran, including intelligence operations, targeted killings, cyberattacks and indirect confrontations across the region. The Mossad is Israel’s foreign intelligence agency, responsible for gathering intelligence and conducting covert operations outside the country.
