The annual Chatham-Kent Plowing Match returns this weekend for its 89th year. The event kicks off at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday at the farm of Josh & Emma Butler at J&E Meats on Oakdale Road in Croton. Organized by the Chatham-Kent Plowmen’s Association, the plowing match will feature prizes for various classes, including the Youngest and Eldest Plowman, Junior Special, and Plowing Special, among others. Along with tractor and horse plowing, the event features a food booth, activities for kids, and the Queen and Princess of the Furrow competition.
