Samuel Strudwick, from Sowerby, set out to raise £200 in memory of his grandad but ultimately raised an impressive £566.32 through selling sweets and items at car boot sales. His fundraising project began in February and was inspired by the care and support Macmillan provided to his grandad, as well as the help given to his family and school during that time. "Everyone who knows him knows he and Grandad were best friends who were inseparable. Stacey Rhodes, senior relationship fundraising manager for Macmillan Cancer Support, said: "We are incredibly grateful to Samuel for his amazing fundraising. "It is particularly inspiring to see someone so young show such determination and compassion for people affected by cancer."
