The in-store café at M&S Food Beverley will serve its final customers on Saturday, August 8, as part of a wider decision by Marks & Spencer to shut cafés located within its smaller food-only outlets. RECOMMENDED READING:In October, an M&S spokesman said: "As we look to modernise our food business and offer the best of M&S Food to more people, more often, we’re investing in our store estate to give our customers the widest possible product range. Marks and Spencer is shutting cafes in some of its smaller food-only stores. "In some of our small Food stores, where customers want a greater range of M&S Food, our transformation also involves repurposing cafe space across 11 small food stores, out of over 300 M&S cafes, coffee shop and coffee to go locations." The changes are part of a £300m investment and store rotation programme, which will see M&S expand its network to around 420 food stores by the end of 2028.
