Lidl has expanded its work with Neighbourly and food-sharing app Olio to around 200 stores across the UK. The scheme allows people to collect unsold fresh produce, meat, and bakery items at the end of the day via the Olio app, and stores taking part include Harrogate, Knaresborough, York, Scarborough, Pickering and Malton. Fresh food is collected by Olio volunteers and redistributed to families and community groups. The programme follows a successful trial at 20 stores and plans to expand across the country by the end of this year. Lidl GB has also donated 50 million meals through its existing Feed it Back scheme since 2016.
