The Government of Tajikistan and the United Nations are strengthening efforts to transform the country’s food systems to improve nutrition, enhance food security and support sustainable development.
Shirnjonzoda highlighted the importance of adopting a comprehensive approach to food systems transformation, noting that stronger collaboration is essential for improving nutrition, strengthening food security and supporting national development goals.
Ramaswami emphasized that food systems transformation must focus on people and communities.
The programme promotes cooperation across health, agriculture, education, finance and economic development sectors to create a coordinated national approach to food systems development.
Through evidence-based policies, institutional strengthening and innovative solutions, Tajikistan’s food systems transformation programme is helping place nutrition at the centre of sustainable development efforts.
