Hazem Faris is one of many scholarship students who were denied study visas to Ireland. Hazem was awarded a scholarship to study computer science in SETU in Carlow before his visa was denied after being asked to justify education gaps and provide original bank statements. ADVERTISEMENTSuch requirements have been virtually impossible for students like Hazem to comply with due to the the ongoing violence and destruction of infrastructure in Gaza. Hazem has been displaced seven times over the last two years and has been working tirelessly under extremely difficult circumstances to complete his bachelor’s degree in computer science. “Just to study in Gaza is very difficult… I was searching for ten days to even have a pencil”.
