The Tacoma Police Department’s Special Investigations (SI) Unit made a record-breaking narcotics seizure as part of an ongoing investigation into a narcotics trafficker who traveled from California into Washington. After extensive surveillance, SI officers conducted an interdiction in Lewis County, taking an adult male into custody without incident. During the operation, officers seized 89 pounds of crystal methamphetamine, the largest single seizure in the unit’s history. For context, the previous record of 83 pounds was set just last year.
