If approved, the measure would grant Thib’s Grocery, located at 13908 U.S. 171 in Longville, a special waiver from the parish’s strict alcohol distance laws. Currently, Ordinance 2-20 bans any liquor license for businesses situated within 500 feet of a church, school, playground, or public library. Thib’s Grocery sits within that 500-foot buffer zone of Squyres United Methodist Church.
