A Passaic County jury has convicted a Paterson man of aggravated sexual assault and related charges stemming from the sexual assault of an incapacitated woman in December 2024, according to the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office.
The jury convicted Banchon of first-degree aggravated sexual assault, second-degree sexual assault and third-degree aggravated criminal sexual contact.
According to prosecutors, police contacted the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victim’s Unit on Dec. 9, 2024, after receiving a report that an adult woman had been sexually assaulted.
The woman reported that Banchon sexually assaulted her at a residence in Paterson while she was incapacitated, according to prosecutors.
Prosecutors said Banchon also is subject to parole supervision for life and registration requirements under Megan’s Law.
