The government has announced plans to introduce real-time tracking of all state vehicles in an effort to improve management of public assets.
In a statement obtained by Kenyans.co.ke, Chief of Staff and Head of the Public Service Felix Koskei said every government vehicle will be fitted with tracking devices under the Government Vehicle Management System (GVMS) to tighten enforcement.
The digital platform will allow authorities to monitor official vehicles, including their authorised drivers, fuel usage, mileage and maintenance records.

Koskei noted that the tracking system would not solely guarantee accountability and called on public officers to take responsibility in managing government vehicles.
