The Department for Work and Pensions claims it mistakenly placed a 57-year-old man from Wrexham onto a training programme for 16-30 year-old jobseekers. John was told that after the training he would have a job so he purchased new clothes for the workplace. “On the Monday of the second week of training I was taken aside and told there had been a mistake. When approached for a response, the DWP explained that John had been incorrectly placed on a employment charity training programme designed specifically to get people aged 16-30 into work. “We sincerely apologise for this error and are in contact with Mr Colamatheo to discuss other job support available, as we help him to explore further employment opportunities.”
