Fjord is director Cristian Mungiu's English-language debut. It tells the story of a devoutly Christian Romanian-Norwegian couple who move to a Norwegian village. When their eldest daughter turns up at school with some bruises on her body, it triggers an investigation into her parents and their conservative parenting methods, escalating into a full-blown crisis in the village and far beyond.
