City flushes name of Main Sewage Treatment Playground, park now to be called Ashbridge’s Bay Sports HubPickleball players are seen in June on the 11-court facility in East Toronto that is now part of the newly renamed Ashbridge’s Bay Sports Hub.
The site was previously called the Main Sewage Treatment Playground, but Toronto Council voted to change the name at its meeting last week.
Main Sewage Treatment Playground at Eastern and Emdaabiimok avenues is being renamed to Ashbridge’s Bay Sports Hub.
The “urgent” motion presented by Toronto-Danforth Councillor Paula Fletcher was passed last week at Toronto Council.
The park is an 11.2-hectare space that features a rugby field, basketball courts, a baseball diamond, a skatepark, and most recently, pickleball courts.
