Tickets for the sold-out Manchester United versus Leeds United friendly at Croke Park are being resold online for up to ten times their original price, despite the venue being covered by anti-touting legislation. While original prices started at €50 for adults and €25 for under-16s, tickets for Wednesday’s match were listed on resale sites yesterday for between €182 and €515. However, Mr Burke recently said: ‘The Department of Enterprise, Tourism and Employment requests regular updates from An Garda Síochána in relation to prosecutions under this Act. ‘An Garda Síochána has powers to investigate the resale of tickets primarily within the jurisdiction. ‘An Garda Síochána will have processes in place to monitor any potential resale of tickets in contravention of the legislation in the vicinity of the venue.’
