PROVO, Utah-Thursday, BYU senior tailback LJ Martin was named as a second-team All-American by The Sporting News. Last season for the Cougars, the native of El Paso, Texas ran for 1,305 yards and 12 scores and added 36 receptions for 255 yards. Martin is the only representative of a Utah-based school to be named to this team. Martin and his BYU teammates start the season August 29 by hosting Utah Tech at LaVell Edwards Stadium.
