HARRISBURG — Pennsylvania’s 500 school districts will share $565 million to help fill education “adequacy” gaps and ease higher tax burdens. The commission’s initial report estimated a $5.4 billion adequacy gap. Many GOP lawmakers have continued to voice skepticism of the adequacy funding formula during budget negotiations. “We think there needs to be more accountability in the world of adequacy funding,” Pittman said. “And quite frankly, this adequacy funding formula has created another world of haves and have-nots among the 500 school districts.”
