SANTA FE, N.M. – The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is switching leadership at the Hermit’s Peak/Calf Canyon Claims Office. A FEMA spokesperson said Interim Operations Director Nancy Casper is stepping down to attend to a life-threatening illness of an immediate family member. Federal Coordinating Officer (FCO), Bob Fogel, is taking over as the new Interim Operations Director for the Claims Office, effective immediately. A FEMA spokesperson said Fogel has decades of experience in emergency management and has worked as an FCO on more than 40 federally declared disasters. FEMA points out that under Casper’s leadership, the office reached $3.74 billion in compensation given to the victims.
