Police and an ambulance crew were called to Transport Avenue at around 10.20pm on Tuesday (4) following reports of an axe attack. They found a man in his 40s suffering from serious wounds. The attack took place close to Lock 99, between Transport Avenue and Boston Manor Park. The canal and towpath remained closed today (6) as officers continued their inquiries, with boats being turned away. Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information that could help identify the attacker.
