The agreement could reportedly be announced in the coming days, although it still requires approval from Iran’s Supreme National Security Council.
The proposed deal is expected to remain in effect for 60 days and is designed to break the current deadlock and pave the way for technical negotiations.
Essentially, it serves as an energy artery for countries in Asia, Europe, and even the United States.
The strait separates Iran from Oman, and in some areas, the width of the shipping channel is only two miles on each side.
