Friday is expected to begin with patchy fog across the region, with the best chance for areas of dense fog mainly across North Iowa before sunrise. Once the morning fog clears, the bigger weather story will be the return of humidity. As humidity continues to build throughout the day, the atmosphere will become more favorable for showers and thunderstorms Friday afternoon and evening. While not everyone will see rainfall, scattered storms are expected to develop as the approaching weather system moves through the region. A few storms could become strong, but widespread severe weather is not expected at this time.
