They indicate that momentum strengthened considerably during the second quarter, putting the industry on course for what SIA expects to be a record-breaking year. “Global chip sales are expected to exceed $1.5 trillion in 2026, with Q2 sales substantially outpacing sales in Q1 2026,” said John Neuffer, SIA president and CEO. If the forecast is realized, annual semiconductor revenue would be nearly four times the sales recorded during the second quarter alone. Europe’s semiconductor sales rose 75.2% compared with June 2025, while Japan recorded a 39% increase.
