Mangalagiri: AIIMS Mangalagiri achieved a major milestone on Thursday with the inauguration of its dedicated Burns & Plastic Surgery Block and the announcement that the institute has become a fully functional 970-bedded tertiary care hospital with 43 clinical and non-clinical departments. The new Burns & Plastic Surgery Block was inaugurated by Prof (Dr) Ahanthem Santa Singh, Executive Director & CEO, in the presence of Prof (Dr) Rajashekar Mohan, Medical Superintendent, Prof (Dr) Desu Rama Mohan, Dean (Academics), and Col. Shashikanth Thumma, Deputy Director (Administration). Faculty members, staff, and media representatives attended the event and toured the new Burns Ward and upgraded Emergency Department. Addressing the media, Prof Singh said AIIMS Mangalagiri has rapidly expanded its healthcare infrastructure, education, and research capabilities. He said ICU capacity has increased to 118 operational beds, while emergency beds have doubled from 30 to 60, including 10 Emergency ICU beds.
