Newly-formed railway zone is being developed as ‘Slim & Smart Railway’

Visakhapatnam: With a comprehensive planning aimed at creating a modern, technology-driven and passenger-friendly railway administration South Coast Railway (SCoR) General Manager Sandeep Mathur on Thursday said the newly-formed railway zone is being developed as a ‘Slim and Smart Railway.’
He stressed that safety has remained the highest priority since the inception of the zone and said significant infrastructure projects have already been completed.
Highlighting passenger-centric initiatives, Sandeep Mathur said the zone has successfully inaugurated three redeveloped Amrit Bharat Stations at Rayanapadu, Mangalagiri and Cumbum, while redevelopment works are progressing at 70 other railway stations.
The zone also achieved overall originating earnings of Rs 2,493 crore, placing it among the top-performing railway zones in the country.
Sandeep Mathur said that in line with its vision of creating a Slim and Smart Railway Headquarters, South Coast Railway adopted the e-Office system from the very first day of its operation, enabling efficient, transparent and paperless administration.
