Srisailam: The Srisailam reservoir is witnessing a steady rise in its water level following heavy flood inflows from the upper Krishna basin, with irrigation authorities expecting the reservoir to attain its full capacity within the next week if the present trend continues. The Telangana government has commenced power generation at the Left Bank Underground Hydel Power Station by utilising the abundant inflows into the reservoir. According to official data, the Full Reservoir Level (FRL) of Srisailam is 885 feet, while the present water level stands at 869.20 feet. Against the gross storage capacity of 215 tmc ft, the reservoir currently holds 138.273 tmc ft of water. While power generation has commenced at the Left Bank Hydel Station, the Right Bank Hydel Power Station is yet to be brought into operation.
