New Delhi: Rajya Sabha member Sana Sathish Babu has urged the Central government to develop Andhra Pradesh’s renowned Pancharama Kshetras as a National Shiva Circuit under the Swadesh Darshan 2.0 scheme. During a meeting with Union minister for tourism and culture Gajendra Singh Shekhawat in New Delhi on Thursday, the MP submitted a detailed proposal seeking the integration of the five historic Shiva temples — Amararama, Draksharama, Somarama, Kumararama and Ksheerarama — into a unified pilgrimage and tourism circuit. Sathish Babu said the proposed Pancharama Shiva Circuit would promote spiritual tourism, preserve India’s rich cultural and religious heritage, create employment opportunities and stimulate economic growth across the Godavari region. Highlighting the success of the Buddhist and Krishna Circuits, he requested the ministry of tourism to prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the Pancharama Shiva Circuit and include it under the Swadesh Darshan 2.0 programme. The Rajya Sabha MP also appealed to the Centre to coordinate with the ministry of road transport and highways and the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to upgrade key road links connecting the Pancharama temples.
