Koraput: Two students were injured after the main gate of a government school collapsed on them while they were entering the campus in Koraput district on Thursday, police said. The incident took place at Kaladi Project Upper Primary School under Kasandi panchayat in Nandapur block. The injured students have been identified as Deepak Majhi (7) and Kamesh Khil (8). School authorities said the entrance gate had weakened over time and collapsed unexpectedly due to rains. “We have informed the Nandapur Block Education Officer and the Block Development Officer about the incident and requested immediate action to ensure the safety of students,” a school official said.
