MINNESOTA — Minnesota is one of the hardest-hit states in a salmonella outbreak linked to jalapeño peppers. There have been more than 100 cases in Minnesota and one in North Dakota. ADVERTISEMENTAccording to the CDC, after being notified about the outbreak, both Chipotle and Qdoba restaurants stopped serving the affected jalapeño peppers. Dr. Avish Nagpal, an infectious disease physician with Sanford, said salmonella is a common bacteria and can easily be treated. Make sure that you're washing with clean water before you consume or cook anything.
