DUTSE — Police operatives in Jigawa State have arrested a 25-year-old nursing officer, Sadik Sale Yahaya, and a 20-year-old female accomplice, Khadija Aliyu, in connection with the alleged abduction of a child from the paediatric ward of Babura General Hospital. The arrest followed a distress call received by the Jigawa State Police Command reporting the sudden disappearance of the child from the hospital facility. Subsequent interrogations led to the arrest of Yahaya, a nursing officer attached to Babura General Hospital, who allegedly conspired with Aliyu to carry out the operation. “The female suspect confessed during interrogation that she took the child with the intention of selling him for two million naira,” Adam stated. Both suspects remain in police custody as investigations continue to determine if other members of a broader child-trafficking syndicate were involved.
