SIOUX FALLS — Police in Sioux Falls are investigating a vehicle theft after a woman was carjacked by someone she offered a ride to. At approximately 3:45 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 6, a Sioux Falls police officer was on patrol in the area of Sixth Street and Cleveland Avenue when they noticed a woman “obviously distraught.” Aaron Benson, the 62-year-old victim told police she had just suffered minor injuries when someone stole her car a few minutes ago. Benson said the suspect climbed through the vehicle into the driver’s seat and started the car. No suspects have been located in connection with the vehicle theft, Benson said, and the investigation continues.
