The 12,500-square-foot campus will serve as the hub for childcare and early childhood education at UNLV. Each classroom accommodates about 20 children, nearly doubling the number of students the preschool can serve annually — raising enrollment from around 250 to almost 350. It also opens up opportunities for more research and hands-on training in early childhood education. Vo hopes the expansion opens that opportunity to more parents and children, and that the community will rally behind further growth of the university’s preschool and early childhood education program. The preschool runs 51 weeks a year, serving children ages 6 weeks to 5 years from the UNLV and Southern Nevada communities.
