Autonomous vehicle company Zoox will begin charging its Las Vegas passengers for rides on Monday. In August 2025, Zoox became the first company to receive a demonstration exemption under that new process. The service launched free rides in Las Vegas last year. In spring 2025, a software defect that caused a collision in Las Vegas led to Zoox temporarily pulling 270 of its cars off the road. Zoox said it doubled the number of pickup and drop-off locations available to riders, now reaching the Las Vegas Convention Center and most major hotels along the Strip.
