The proposed Berrier Solar Farm would be built on grazing land north of Whitbarrow, around nine kilometres west of Penrith and approximately 460 metres from the Lake District National Park and World Heritage Site boundary.
Approximately two-metre-high fencing would surround the site, with cameras up to three metres high providing 24-hour perimeter surveillance.
However, it identifies the scheme's main environmental considerations as its relationship with the national park, flood-risk areas and the nearby Berrier Airstrip.
Its public consultation website states: "Berrier Solar Farm offers all of these features", when explaining that solar developments require a nearby grid connection, a willing landowner and land with limited planning constraints.
The exact details of the offer will be discussed and agreed with the community as part of the community engagement process."
