Cynthia D'souza, 58, who wants to see an end to the 'postcode lottery' of council tax support for those with a terminal illness.
But she was shocked to learn that Cumberland Council has not adopted that policy.

"I'm worried about people that are a lot further down the line that are in that situation and they're worrying about paying their council tax.
The council also has a range of discretionary powers in relation to Council Tax discounts, exemptions, and reductions.
