Fiddler on the Roof has arrived at the Theatre Royal in a fresh new production to celebrate the musical’s 64th anniversary. While every song and the familiar storyline remain intact, this is no attempt to simply recreate the original Broadway production. Troy Sussman dominates the production as Tevye, delivering a performance filled with warmth, humour, stubbornness and heartfelt emotion. More than six decades after it first appeared on Broadway, Fiddler on the Roof continues to speak of faith, family, love and resilience with extraordinary warmth and relevance. The production was rewarded with a thoroughly deserved standing ovation, recognising the outstanding work of the cast, orchestra and creative team.
