Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...POLK COUNTY—A flood advisory is in effect in Polk County until 9:45 p.m. The National Weather Service issued the advisory at 6:50 p.m. on Thursday for Polk County and southeastern Rutherford County. The advisory adds that between one and two inches of rain have fallen, with additional rainfall amounts of one to two inches expected over the area. Motorists should use extreme caution if driving, and stay off roads if possible until the advisory is lifted. Some locations experiencing flooding include Forest City, Rutherfordton, Columbus, Spindale, Tryon, Ellenboro, Bostic, Alexander Mills, Green Creek, Harris, Mill Spring, Caroleen and Lake Adger, the advisory states.
