Marilyn Johnson Bass, 71, of Baxley passed away Monday, July 27, 2026 at her residence surrounded by her loving family and under the care of Hospice of South Georgia. Mrs. Bass was born on October 7, 1954, in Appling County to the late Lannis Johnson and the late Louise Dubberly Johnson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her two brothers, Mickey Johnson and Lamar Johnson. Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Guyton “Mickey” Bass; sons, Doug (Andrea) Bass and Corey (Melissa) Bass; sister, Janice (Dwight) Courson; brother, Tim (Cindy) Claxton; and grandchildren, Mattie (Justin) Young, Emily Bass, Corissa (Chancey) Vaughn, and Michael Bass. Active pallbearers were Jeff Baxley, Randy Kimbrel, Casey Courson, Chris Courson, Dustin Johnson, and Jason Bass.
