Clark County has approved roughly $1.27 million in grants to fund 26 improvement projects across Las Vegas' Chinatown, part of an effort to boost safety, lighting, parking, landscaping, signage, and public art along the corridor.
County officials say the public funding is expected to draw more than $2.1 million in accompanying private investment, bringing the total combined investment to more than $3.37 million.
The awards mark the first direct investment in Chinatown made through the Clark County Redevelopment Agency, and officials are framing the program as a model for public-private cooperation that could spur additional revitalization in the area.
Jayson Dagher, commission district analyst for Clark County Commissioner Justin Jones, said the approved work responds directly to concerns raised by business owners along the corridor.
“These 26 approved projects directly target the operational realities of the corridor,” Dagher said in the statement.
