The Clark County School District is entering the new academic year with a wave of changes, including revised bell schedules, safety upgrades, and one of its strongest teacher staffing numbers in decades. Beginning Aug. 10, middle schools will start around 7:30 a.m., high schools around 8:30 a.m. and elementary schools around 9:15 a.m., with some exceptions. Middle school is the only level starting earlier than it did last year; every other grade level will start later. "I understand change; change is difficult at times, but we know that through the research that students will be ready to learn, the high school students, right. The district also reports significant progress on teacher staffing heading into the new year.
