Fayetteville, WV (WOAY) The Fayette County Sheriff’s Department is investigating after two dogs were abandoned outside the Fayette County Animal Shelter. When they looked closer, they discovered a dog crate containing two dogs left partially in the roadway. Authorities say abandoning animals at the shelter after hours is considered animal cruelty and is a criminal offense. Shelter officials are requesting that the community not leave animals outside of the facility. Anyone with information about who may have left the dogs is asked to contact the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department at 304-574-4216.
