Look, I’ve seen some strange marketing decisions in this industry, but the Netflix and Take Two Interactive arrangement for the next Grand Theft Auto VI extended look might be the dumbest thing I’ve heard all year.
On August 27, 2026, Netflix will have exclusive rights to “Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look” starting at 12 PM PST / 3 PM EST.
Then, six hours later, at 6 PM PST / 9 PM EST, the exact same video drops for free on Rockstar’s YouTube channel and the official GTA VI site.
But a six-hour head start on an extended look that’s going to be free on YouTube by that same evening?
Honestly, I have to wonder what Netflix actually paid for six hours of bragging rights.
