President Donald Trump on Thursday urged Republicans to end the Senate filibuster to pass critical legislation, warning that Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed supports doing so when Democrats return to power. Trump has repeatedly urged the Senate to reform its rules to eliminate the 60-vote filibuster threshold to approve contentious legislation, though they have balked at the idea. "For our Great Republican Senators, friends of mine 'all,' please be advised that the Communist Dumocrat Senate Candidate from Michigan, Abdulrahman Mohamed El-Sayed, is touting, as perhaps his single most important point, the Termination of the Filibuster," Trump posted on Truth Social. El-Sayed won the Democratic primary for Senate this week, defeating Rep. Haley Stevens, D-Mich. El-Sayed has called for ending the filibuster, ending lifetime appointments to the Supreme Court, and abolish Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), according to Bridge Michigan.
